Lakers Game no Pokes!

Yesterday there was no time for pokes as my dad flew in from Las Vegas, NV for super bowl weekend. He also was joining my boy Jordan and I for the Lakers vs Twolves game at the Target Center last night. It was a good game for the first half and then the lakers just took over the second half and controlled a double digit lead the rest of the game. However it is always entertaining to watch Kobe, he is just amazing. The wolves just dont have the talent quite yet to hang with Lakers. The wolves do however have the best NBA record in 09 at 12-3.
I will be making my first appearance at Porterhouse Steakhouse in Lakeville tonight as I am taking my fiance Kelli and my dad out for a nice steak dinner. There will be no poker the rest of weekend because we got dinner reservations tonight and basketball tomorrow morning and then the Super Bowl tomorrow night. It will be nice to have some family and friends time and a little break from poker after this great run will be nice.

I love the can't sleep sessions!

So I was laying in bed after I watched the roddick vs feds tennis match and I couldn't fall asleep. What better to do when you can't sleep than fire up a pokes sesh? So I move around from table to table, and finally I started playing a guy heads up at 36 nl. I run sick good and stack him twice real quick. He then challenges me to 4 tables of 24 nl. This guy seemed fairly decent but really played too tight for HU. So I accepted and we battled for a couple of hours and then my computer locked up and froze all my tables. Luckly I wasnt in any big hands. It was time for me to start getting ready to go get my teeth cleaned anyways so I called it a match. I ended up making 2 more buy ins during that time and ended up 2 dimes vs him. I must say theres nothing better than making 2 dimes because you cant fall asleep.

Another day another W!

Today was a little bit of a battle compared to my last few sessions but I managed to bang out a 600 win. I started up 600 on the sesh and then ran kk into aa hu and thats almost impossible to get off of. Anyways I managed to battle back and end the day up. I am going to post 2 hands that I thought I played extremely well. The first I had KJ and it was fairly early in the match so I thought it was a perfect time to make a bluff that if he calls I still have the nut draw and even if I miss I can still bluff him off his hand pending what the river brought. Also if he folds I can show him a bluff and get him tilty early and hope to get the payoff when I do hit. He folded and mine plan worked as I stacked him off a few hands later. The 2nd hand I had k3h and I raised to 20 and he remin raised me to 20 and I called. The flop came K high with 2 hearts which is a great flop for me obv because I have the top pair and a draw if my pair is no good. Because he did the min raise pre flop its almost always a huge hand or nothing so when he bets the flop im just going to call because I dont want to get my chips in behind and if I am way ahead I dont want him to fold. Now the turn brings me the 2nd nuts and he cbets another big bet which at this point im pretty sure he has AA or nothing so I just call again. I do not want to show strength because he will insta fold if he has nothing like I think he does and if he has AA I will get it all on the river anyways. The river comes a blanco and he bets almost all of his stack and I obv put him all in. He calls and mucks, so I check the HH and he had j5o no pair. Wow nh sir I thought to myself. I also can definately tell that Doyle's Room now joining cakes network has brought more fish and more action to the site. I can only hope it stays like this long enough for me to really run my broll back up.

Detox basketball team remained undefeated tonight as we improved to 3-0. My poker win streak also continued as it took just 22 hands to stack 2 players and ship a 600 winner. I will post one of the hands below.

Nice round 1.4k day!

Today's sesh went perfect as I found a donk to play me heads up and basically just give me a dime. So I closed down to watch the Marq vs ND game. Marq who is 8th in the country was getting 3 poitns vs #22 in the country, seemed like free money to me as Marq won outright. Then I watched the new 24 episode, which I must say was sick.
The Roddick match came on after that and I managed to pick up another 400 while sweating that match. Also Roddick was a 2 to 1 dog in the match so I figured I would put the winnings of my Marq bet on Roddick and he won in 4 sets so ship all whips today. Operation Run Good still in effect as of now. Also congrats to tubs as he booked back to back 3k winners.

Dime winner and a $250k free roll!

Yesterday I fired up a hu session and I quickly busted the donk up for a dime. I figured I have been running good/playing good enough to take a shot in the 250k MTT. This tourney is a $250 buy in and pays $60k for first. I played pretty tight and coasted my way right into the money which payed just under 400. So now I was free rolling at a $250k prize pool with less than 150 players left. I then picked up a10 and shoved all in for 30k in chips and got called by the big blind with A6. Obviously a 6 spiked on right and the flop and I didnt improve and I was out. I can't complain because I have been crushing the cash games and got myself in a great spot for a big score. My time will come, I hope anyways!

Fubar Jenga and Jack and Coke!

Tonight I will be taking a break from poker and joining my boy Jordan and his boys from Iowa who are up for the weekend for some Fubar Jenga. I have never played before, however it involves too of close friends Jack Daniels and Crown Royal so im sure it will be a blast no matter what. Hope all you other donks get away from the poker tables and enjoy the weekend. Its good to blow off some steam once in a while. Tonight is that night for Bo Vice. Pissen me Off a lil bit!

WOW Lessmurphy back on stars!

So tonight I was watching some tennis when I decided to fire up a HU match. I finally starting running hot as I beat a guy out of $800 in less than 2o minutes. Nothing better than running hot and playing good. So I closed down to sweat my boy cellman playing on pstars. I wanted to send a ship it message to his table after he won a nice pot, but you have to have the minimum buy in for the game in order to chat. So tubs sent me $100 and I was allowed to send the message. Shorty after he closed down and I was just sweating some tennis I figured I woud sit at a 12 nl hu table and see if I could double up. This took no time as I got all in with pocket aces vs a flush draw and actually faded it. The guy reloaded and I grinded him out of another 150 and off to a 3/6 nl game I went. I figure im stone free rolling and if I lose I owe tubs a $100 and if I run it up that would be sick. 5 hands into the 3 handed game I pick up jj on the button and raise and I get 3 bet and I just call. It comes 9 high and he cbets same bet and I jc, the turn comes a 2 and he cbets and I jc again, the river then comes a 2 and he checks and I bet 40 and he calls with AA and I lose. This brought me down to like 170 after the hand so I figured my run was over, however 2 hands later I pick up 88 and a guy raises I 3 bet and he shoves so I obvioulsy call hoping he has ak or aq. He had ak and my 88 held up and back in the game I was. Five mintues later 4 people sit down and I decide I should play around to my big blind and sit out. However my second hand I pick up aa and this guy opens for 30 so I put him on ak or kk so I made it 70 with AA and he calls. The flop comes J1010 and he checks and I bet 60 and he calls. The turn comes a 7 and he checks and I bet 120 and he calls. The river is a blanco and he checks and I go all in for my crumbs I had left and he calls and I ship a 600 pot. 2 hands later I pick up aj and get paid off by a5 and pick up 200 more and leave the table with 900. So I ship back the $100 to tubs and now I have a 800 free roll on stars. Not sure what the plan for it is, maybe go big or go home or maybe try to grind it up well see. That session put me up over 3k in the last 24 hours so I must say "Today aint your day" YA DONKS!. Pissen me off a lil bit.

Ship Whips!!!!!

Today's session started off with a little heads up match. The donk wasted no time as he bluffed off all his chips with ace high less than 20 hands into the match. I then fired up 6 24 nl tables and quickly made 400 which put me up 700 on the sesh. I also had today's gold cards for another $88 bonus which put me at just under 8 hondo. I finally am really feeling in the zone every session now and hopefully I can continue to play at this level and just run normal a little while longer and shoot this broll out. Contrats too tubs as he busted up pstars last night for just over 3 racks, nice win duder!

Online crush fest continues!

I definitely believe that my best game is NL 6m and NL heads up. I took a little cashout shot at limit holdem this last weekend and while I did run like a 3 legged dog I just don't feel in the zone like I do in NL. So I went back to NL these last few days and the crush fest continued as I have booked 3 consecutive winners.
In other news Detox Basketball team lead by Jordan's 21 points and five 3pointers and my 12 points and 5 dimes stayed undeafeated last night.

Ship another winner!

Tonight it was time for another live session at the club. The session was great as I went wire to wire plus on the sesh. I decided to book a small winner and cashout up 450. I might plow back in tomorrow for a another mini session in the afternoon, before we check out the late showing of the new Clint Eastwood movie.

Session done in 25 hands!

Wow there is nothing better than making a nickel in 25 hands. I guess I will just keep todays blog short just like the sesh. My bloody Valentine in 3D releases tonight at 12:30 at Mall of America so Kelli and I are going to check that out since the sesh was so short. I must say I love 5 minute work days, and catching midnight showings of movies! ROUGH LIFE I know. But hey life just isn't fair so ship all whips!

Poker with JC!

Today I decided I would take a crack at some live poker. When I got to the club today the 3060 game was full so I sat in the 1530 game while I was waiting. When I took my seat I noticed the Minnesota Timberwolves center Jason Collins was sitting in the game as well. It is always fun to play with celebrities / pro athletes, not to mention usually good for the game. However JC actually seemed to play pretty tight and actually not as bad as most. I did not get to play too long because I was called for the 30 game. Anyways I played a 7 hour session and ended up $60 on the sesh. I then jumped online for a little HU match when I got home while watching season 6 of 24 and made $115 before the fish sat me out.

Minor bump, but back on track!

Well yesterdays session was the one you read about. It started off by getting AA cracked twice which never even allowed me to be plus 1 dollar on the sesh. It never ended up turning around as I just lost pot after pot the whole night. Along with the suckouts I also managed to run into some impossible folds that never can be made. The first one I had nut fullhouse vs quad kings, and I also managed to run a Ace high flush into a straight flush with no board pair. All in all I only ended up blowing 1.5 racks. However I did collect my last needed gold card for the monthly bonus of a nickel, which put me only stuck a dime on the sesh. I also made almost 250 in rake which was a nice little bonus. Its funny to say that losing a dime could feel like a win but with all the brutal beats and set up hands to only be down a dime after a session like that is a huge win in my mind.
Todays session was the complete opposite of yesterdays. I went wire to wire up on the session and booked a 1.4 rack win. Hopefully back on track now as Tubs and I are planning a vegas trip very soon. I need a break from this computer and this cold ass weather. PISSEN ME OFF A LIL BIT! New unforgiveable available called formula C so check it out.
Also off the poker subject our basketball team Detox knocked off last years league champs tonight in our first league game of the year. Nice start boys!

Bo Vice sizzling hot!

Wow running good is an understatement at this point. I took Pittsburgh for 300 and the under of the mavericks game for another 200 and ship them both. I make 400 in poker which makes today a 900 day. This also puts me over 5 dimes on the Year. Just the started I needed. Im almost as hot as Mutt Carrol was in pick up ball this morning. Mutt your heating up just in time as we start our League this Tuesday in Apple Valley.

Quota System success again!

Yesterday was a sweet day as it started off with Emily and tubs coming up from Mankato to join Kelli and I for the Twolves game. The wolves were down 12 most of the game when Carney and Foye just refused to miss and ended up winning there 5th game in a row. We had 6 row seats behind visitors bench that we payed 180 for $800 in tickets so that was nice too. We then met up with Jordan Nicole and Tyler for some jack and cokes as Ty was in town prepairing to head out West to train with his QB coach for the upcoming combines. So it was nice to him and his family and sip a lil bit. It is also nice to just take a day off from poker completely.
So today I fired up a session and it lasted roughly 1o minutes as I stacked a guy for 350 hu and called it a sesh. I think I will just chill and sweat the Steelers game and maybe play a pm session laster tonight after dinner.

Ship Florida & Another poker win!

Yesterday was sweet as we got our whole softball team out for a little get together for the national championship. I had a nickel on the game so it was nice to have 10 people sweating for me and I must say I needed all the sweat I could get for that win. So TY guys for the sweat! Also thanks to everyone sweating from home.
Tonight I took my fiancee Kelli out for a little dinner and a movie, and when we got home I decided to fire up a little HU session and it took less than 12 minutes to stack 2 short stacks for 400. The heat apparently is still on so hopefully I can keep shipping whips baby!

Almost a full rack win on the day!

Lock up 2 more winners today baby. The afternoon sesh I decided to play a hu 24 nl match and it couldn't have went any better as I got the fish to bluff off his stack in less than 15 minutes. The pm session I fired 7 tables of 24 NL 6m and grinded for roughly an hour before I floped a set and got a feeesh to shove all in with a flush draw gutter ball combo draw. The turn board paired and he was drawing dead. This put me up almost a rack on the day so I closed down my tables and booked another winner. I also continued the run up of my SB acct by going 3 for 3 tonight with a push. I can only hope this life heater will continue.

The streak continues!

Today's session took less than a half hour before I was up just under a nickel. I am currently on a quota win system so I closed down my tables and called it a day. I definitely will never complain about a 30 minute work day. As the wise ones say "400 a day keeps the 8 to 5 away". I must give a shot out to my boy CP3 as he droped 32 and 15 dimes tonight to lead the way to a road win vs the Lakers tonight that made me 350 bones. Another day another DOLLA!

WOW run good ONE TIMMMME!

Finally the cards are turning around and finally allowing me to play my best poker. It seems picking off bluffs are just about impossible when your running bad, but when your running good I know it allows me to play my best game and pick off sick bluffs. Tonight started off great when I went with my boy Jordan to pick up his new touch black berry aka The Storm and grabbed some dinner to watch the fiesta bowl. Covering the under on a baby bet was nice as well. But then it was time to head home and start work. Coming off multiple wins in a row just gives me the right MOJO and really allows me to play my best. So I started off with 7 tables of 24 NL full ring and 6m. I quickly made a nickel on cake and then moved onto poker stars. I doubled up at one table with aa vs kq on a k107 flop, and then closed to down to play at a 4 handed 24 nl table which PTR rated the best table on stars at the time. 3rd hand in I picked up the good old kojack aka KJ and raised it to 12 on the button. MP then called the 12 and the flop came K5Q and the MP caller lead out 16 and I JC. The turn came a 8 and he cbet 40 and I JC again. The river was a 6 and he shoved all in for 200 into a 130 pot. I immediately clicked my time bank to replay the hand in my head. A bluff and bottom set 555 were the 2 hands that made the most sense to the way he played this hand. So I figured I would bring out a old trick I have not been able to use on cake because the time bank is to quik on that site. My trick is to ask the player if he/she will show me his cards if I fold. Almost 90% of the time if the player says yes he/she is bluffing and I almost always call. So I asked the player if he would show and he said yes and I snapped called the 200 bet and he showed the a10 and I shipped the pot. That hand put me up a nickel for the night on stars and a dime for day. SHIP ALL WHIPS!!!!

09 starts off great!

Well 09 has started off just the way I needed it. I have booked 4 winners in 5 sessions, with 1 break even sesh. Along the way I have built up a nice chunk in rake as well. Hopefully I can build off of this nice little start to 09!

New Year 09 Begins!

If I could only erase November and December from last year I would have had my best year of my career. However, I did still have an amazing year even with those two brutal months. I picked up some priceless experiences and knowledge for the game that should in return lead me to a very profitable 09.
I will start this year by playing lower limits while trying to grind up a big chunk of rake to repair my damaged broll. I am looking to book small wins, grind rake and take a few more tournament shots this year. By doing this it does take away a lot of the glamor and exotic life style such as playing huge NL games with Nelly and traveling numerous times to Vegas. I will however be getting back into Canterbury more this year and within no time I should have my broll repaired and back to the good old life style I should be.
I apologize for the long droubt of no blogs but to be honest there isn't much to blog about when losing besides bad beats and I know no one wants to hear about those because most of you have plenty of ur own. So I will not bore you with those unless it is something really rare. Hopefully I will be posting plenty of cool and unsual hands that I come out on top of this year. Thanks for being patient and for all of your support. I hope you all enjoy the ride with me this year through the ups and downs of crushing donkeys in 09. Hopefully we can ship many whips this year.
